Ideal Number of Patients in a Treatment Center

What’s the ideal number of patients in a treatment center?

Large addiction and alcohol treatment centers are the ones that get the press and are often used as examples of superior treatment. That may not be true, especially when it comes to long-term sobriety.

Benefits of a small treatment center
More access to staff ... A safe and healing environment allows the addict/alcoholic to accept their situation and learn about the transition to sobriety. With direct access to counselors and psychologists who know the patient well, questions can be answered quickly and personally.

Small Groups ... Though one may think recovery is a private affair, it’s proven to be more effective if clients develop personal relationships with peers who are also working toward sobriety. The more the addict listens, either to their peers or counselors, the more lasting effect the treatment can bring. If the group is too large, that “safe” feeling may be lost.

Comfort and support ... A maximum of six inpatients is the answer at Ranch Creek Recovery, offering two trained professionals for each patient. That’s two-on-one, very individualized care.
